Vivian Ruth Powers, age 69, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at NHC Healthcare of Athens.
Vivian was a native of Meigs County. She was a daughter of the late David and Lorene Powers. She was also preceded by a brother William “Bill” Powers and nephew Jimmy Powers.
Vivian loved our Lord and Savior and was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. In her younger years, she was a member of Decatur United Methodist Church.
Vivian loved to travel and go on cruises. She was a former employee of Arch/Lonza Chemicals with over 25 years of service. She was a graduate of Meigs County High School and Chattanooga Business School.
Vivian is survived by a daughter, Sonya Crane, a brother Jim and wife Betsy Powers of Englewood, sister-in-law Norma Powers of Madisonville.
Nieces Sharon (Alan) Jennings of Decatur and Stephanie (Nathan) Ogle of Madisonville a nephew Bill (Dana) Powers of Springfield, MO. Several great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Ziegler Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
Pallbearers will be Bill Powers, Alan Jennings, Nathan Ogle, Braden Ricker, and Jim Powers.
