William “Eddie” Harris, age 71, lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024. Eddie was a former employee of McKeehan Chair Company and an employee of Dooley Tractor. He was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He is preceded by his parents: Andrew and Esta Mae Harris, sisters: Eva Harris Dockins (Glen), niece: Eva Faye Slack, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Alvin and Kate Sneed Carter.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 44 years: Judy Carter Harris, brother-in-law; Butch Carter (Kim), nieces: Glenda Moss (Dick) and Brooke Greene (Joe), great nieces: Laura Fulbright (Kyle), Renee Slack, great-great nephews: Porter Fulbright, Emmitt Fulbright, along with several special friends and family.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Clear Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM at the church with Reverend Darren Fansler officiating. There will be a graveside service at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 16, 2023, at Short Creek Cemetery in Athens.
Eddie Bohannon, Bill Burris, Larry Malone, Donald Vaughn, James Sneed, and Donnie Sneed will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Clear Springs Baptist Church.
