Wilma “Jean” Armstrong Nunley, age 94, native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents: William Lawson and Minnie Elizabeth Moore Armstrong, her husband: William “Bill” Lee Nunley, her son and daughter-in-law: Doug and Agnes Nunley, a brother: Jimmy Armstrong, and two grandsons: Matthew Nunley and Lawson Nunley.
Jean is survived by her daughters: Pat (Fred) Simmons of Niota, and Betty Davis of Athens, and a son: Eddie (Jan) Nunley of Cleveland, a sisters-in-law: Elaine Armstrong of Ten Mile and Gracie Nunley of Niota, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services were held at McMinn Memory Gardens with Reverend Thomas Hazelwood officiating.
Friends and family served as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank Dominion Assisted Living and Hospice of Chattanooga for taking such good care of our mother.
