CAROLYN MARGARET BOYD

Carolyn Margaret Morrow Boyd, age 75, of Riceville, went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 6th, 2018. She was born August 29th, 1942 in Riceville to the late Len and Margaret Tallent Morrow.

Carolyn lived her entire life in McMinn County. She was an active member of Solid Rock Baptist Church.

Gardening, cooking, sewing and living the country life were some of Carolyn’s favorite things. However,

Those that knew Carolyn, knew quickly that the true calling of Carolyn’s life was loving and caring for her family.  She grew up as the only daughter with three brothers, whom she loved greatly. Carolyn was a Godly mother to four daughters, and was the grandmother to five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Carolyn dedicated herself to caring for her late mother Margaret, and enjoying life with daughter Darlene. Those that loved and were loved by Carolyn Boyd have truly experienced love in the purest form.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Edward Boyd. Brothers Bill Morrow and Gene Morrow also preceded her in death.

She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Pam Griffin and husband, Wayne, Tammy Swafford and husband, Joe, Darlene Boyd, and Carol Housley and husband, Jason.

One brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Morrow and wife, Dianne, Tony Morrow and wife Connie.

Five grandchildren, Jeremy Griffin and wife Katrina, Tyler Swafford, Brittany Haney and husband Zack, Wesley Swafford and wife Hannah, and Cody Housley and fiance’ Kayla Crisp.

Six special great grandchildren, Tucker Swafford, Justin Griffin, Lauren Griffin, Griffin Haney, Emerson Haney and Josie Swafford.

Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 10th, 2018, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Leamon and Jimmy Morrow officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday. April 11th, 2018, in the Ricevile Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Jeremy Griffin, Tyler Swafford, Wesley Swafford, Cody Housley, James Morrow, Zack Haney and Josh Cook.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 10th, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm prior to the service at Ziegler Funeral Home.
