Passed away Monday, September 2, 2019

At Starr regional Medical center in Athens

A native of Meigs County and longtime resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Curtis Deen and Wilma Sue Huff Ballew and was preceded in death by a sister, Connye Davis.  He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

In May 2012, he received a donor kidney after being on dialysis for over 5 years. At the end Chris was able to give back to help others by being a tissue and cornea donor.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years,

   Janice Stafford Ballew of Athens

Two daughters and one son-in-law,

   Jessica and Uriel Perez of Athens

   Abby Ballew of Athens

Two grandchildren, Alex Perez and Mercedes Perez

One sister and brother-in-law,

   Sandy and Tim Moses of Decatur

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Porter officiating.

Pallbearers will be Tim Moses, Uriel Perez, Jonathon Santos, Jerry Underwood, David Vaughn and Charles Waller.
