At his residence.
A native of Cleveland and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Lawrence Horace “Shorty” Fugate and Ira Lee Moore Fugate. Leo retired after 30 years from the McMinn County Landfill as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Purple Martin Society and was passionate about wildlife conservation and built and distributed over 2000 blue bird houses. He enjoyed traveling, dancing, and gardening. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and had attended Jones Chapel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with Pastor John Crabtree and Pastor Frank Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andy Fugate, Aaron Nash, Toby English, Marcus Miller, Blake Miller and Xzayvier Beckingham.
The family will receive friends 5-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
