Passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017

At his residence.

A native of Heber Springs, AR. and longtime resident of Riceville, he was the son of the late Alton Eugene and Mary Estelle Verner McGowan and was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa McGowan. He was a former employee of Seaton’s.

Survivors include step daughter,

   Mandy Purdy of Sweetwater

Step grandsons, Joseph, Jacob, Jonah, and Joshua

Four brothers and two sisters-in-law,

   Rocky and Sandra McGowan of Dunlap

   James McGowan of Riceville

   Danny Hall of Ellijay, GA.

   Luke and Deb Hall of Farner

Three sisters and two brothers-in-law,

   Kimblee Arp of Riceville

   Annette and Bit Ledford of NC.

   Sue and Ree Nichols of Ellijay, GA.

Former wife, Carla Webb of Athens

Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 am Friday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Stanton officiating. Burial will be in Riceville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gary Millsaps, Ronnie Faulkner, Harvey Shelton, Michel Wilcox, Travis Wright and Jammie Shelton.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
