Barbara Kathleen “Kathy” Hale Imlay, age 63, of Decatur, went to be with the Lord, while surrounded by her loving family, on Friday evening, September 6, 2019.
Born, March 14, 1956, in Chicago, IL to Jessie and Frances Morgan Hale, Kathy was a longtime resident of Decatur, a member of Rock View Baptist Church and formerly associated with Textron Industries.
Kathy was a huge supporter of the Meigs County Athletics Program, especially the high school football teams. She was very active with assisting her husband, Gary, as a Boy Scout troop leader.
After her diagnosis of a rare brain tumor, Kathy wanted to help researchers by volunteering for experimental treatments to help find a cure for brain cancer.
Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Jessie Hale, maternal grandparents, Paul and Mary Jane Hampton Morgan, paternal grandparents, George and Mae Hartman Hale, sister, Mary Hale Elder along with 2 infant brothers and 1 sister, 2 nephews, Timmy Hale and Derek Elkins, niece, Kelly Hale, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chad and Laverne Imlay and 2 brothers-in-law, Glen Imlay and Gene Imlay
Survivors include her loving husband, of 26 years, Gary William Imlay of Decatur
Mother, Frances Morgan Hale of Decatur
Son, Calvin Thomas Huckabey and Sherry of Decatur
Three grandchildren, Cody Marqoux, Cameron Huckabey and Clayton Huckabey all of Decatur
Three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Phyllis Hale, Richard and Sharon Hale and Jerry Hale all of Decatur
One sister, Susie Hale of Decatur
Brother-in-law, James Imlay of Decatur
Two sisters-in-law, Patricia Imlay and Lisa Imlay of Georgia

Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Monday, September 9, 2019, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Best officiating.
Burial will be 11:00 am Tuesday, September 10, 2019, in Clearwater Cemetery with family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Monday, September 9, 2019, at Ziegler Funeral Home.
