Beecher Saffles, age 74, of Athens, went home to be with his Lord, on Friday August 21, 2020.
A native of Englewood and lifelong resident of McMinn county, he was the son of the late Jack and Gonia Johnson Saffles.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Dianne Younce Saffles, 2 sisters, Lena Merritt and Catie Sue Campbell, along with a son-in-law, Jose’ Carballosa Sr.
Beecher was associated with Alfred’s IGA for several years, he later retired from Ingles Supermarket with over 20 years of service.
He was a member of Everlasting Life Baptist Church in Englewood. Beecher was a friend to everyone, he never met a stranger.
He is survived by 2 daughters and one son-in-law, Cindy Jack and husband Danny, and Audrey Carballosa all of Athens
5 grandchildren,Travis Jack and fiancé Christina Hastings, Tyler Jack and wife Angel, Austin Jack and Taryn McGill, Chris White, all of Athens,
and Jose’ Carballosa and fiancé Sophia Olivera, of Riceville
7 great grandchildren
Kaylee Jack, Makayla Jack, Jacob Jack, Waylon Jack, Sophia Jack, Destiny Hastings and Phoebe Hastings
1 great-great granddaughter, Brynlee
2 sisters, Jane Dunn of Athens and Lori Maxwell of Madisonville
Along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hendrix officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunrise cemetery in Englewood with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August, 25 ,2020, at Ziegler Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, prior to the service.
