Bennie Martin Raper

Bennie Martin Raper, age 95, of Athens, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021, at her residence.

Bennie was a native of Englewood and lifelong resident of McMinn County.  She was a daughter of the late Albert Washington Martin and Callie Jimerson Martin.  She is also preceded by husband James E. Raper and Sister Rena Martin Swany.

Bennie loved to write poetry and enjoyed sewing.  She working for sewing factories in accounting and retired as a librarian from the Englewood Library at the age of 89.

Bennie is survived by

Daughter Hannah Bryan;

Grandsons Dylan Bryan and wife Annie, and Jaron Bryan;

Great Grandson Miles Bryan;

Sister Grace Trew.

Graveside Services will be at 2 PM, Monday December 27, 2021 at Prospect Cemetery in Englewood with Pastor Jimmy Lewis officiating.
