Betty Joan Frye Hennessee, age 86, lifelong resident of McMinn County, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Betty was a homemaker and she loved to cook and work in the garden.
She is preceded by her parents: Ray and Carrie Bell Vincent Frye, husband of 62 years: Charlie Roscoe Hennessee, brothers: Raymond Frye and Tommy Frye, and sister: Eva Jean Morgan.
Betty is survived by her children: Glenn and Bonnie Hennessee of Niota, Sharon and Melvin Coleman of Athens, Bob and Lisa Hennessee of Athens, Alan and Tonya Hennessee of Athens, Janice and Marty Dobbs of Cleveland, Tracy Hennessee of Athens, Mark Hennessee of Athens, grandchildren: Justin and Deah Hennessee, Tabitha Hennessee, Joshua and Jenny Hennessee, Sara Hennessee, Nathan Hennessee, Cody Dobbs and Miranda Dobbs, great- grandchildren: Cayden Hennessee, Aven Hennessee, Jacob Hennessee, Isaac Hennessee and Izzy Hennessee, great-great-grandchildren: Mollie and Gabby and brother: Kenneth Frye (Linda).
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Ziegler Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Reverend Travis Torbett officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Riceville.
Grandsons, great-grandsons, and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
