A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was the son of the late Austin and Carrie Yarber Tallent and was preceded in death by two brothers, Manuel Tallent, twin brother, Clyde Howard Tallent and Cullen Tallent.   He was a 57-year member of the Meridian Sun Masonic Lodge #50 F & AM. He was a longtime employee of White Stores for over 43 years and retired from United Grocery Outlet.  He was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years,

One grandson, Josey Nolan Tallent

Shaye “Baby” Evans whom was like a granddaughter

A private graveside service will be Friday, April 10, 2020 at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Scott Leamon officiating.
