Passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018

At her residence.

A native of Turtletown and longtime resident of McMinn County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Wesley Hayes and Irene Croft Hayes and was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Jean Greene Tooley; sister, Nancy Hayes Hamby; brother, “Buddy” Hayes. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, and gardening and was a very creative and talented lady. She was a member of Riceville Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years,

   James “Jim” Greene of Riceville

One daughter and son-in-law,

   Lisa and Collins Maxwell of Athens

One son and daughter-in-law,

   Gerald and Melissa Mashburn

Grandchildren: Nicolas Maxwell, Brett Mashburn and his wife, Stephanie, Andrea Ricker, and Brandon Tooley.

Several great grandchildren

One sister and brother-in-law,

   Donna Hayes Duckworth and her husband, Tommy of Turtletown

Two brothers and sisters-in-law,

   Eddie Hayes and his wife, Jackie of Chattanooga

   David Hayes and his wife, Dora May of Turtletown

Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Matherley officiating. Entombment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Claude Myers, Larry Graves, Collins Maxwell, Nicolas Maxwell, Brett Mashburn and Brandon Tooley. 

The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
