Dan A. Walker

Dan A. Walker, age 79, of Athens, died Friday, January 27, 2023.

Dan was born in Riceville to the late William “Bill” Martin Walker Sr. and Ollie Mae Bledsoe Walker.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dave Walker, Bill Walker Jr, also a sister, Margaret Walker Womack.

Dan was a former employee of Bowater Southern having worked as a pipefitter and welder.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Athens and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy

Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Fran Hennessee Walker of Athens;

Daughter and son-in-law Donna and Sam Stephens Jr of Athens;

Son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Jennifer Walker of Athens;

2 Grandchildren Anna Luttrell and Camille Luttrell;

4 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law Nell Walker Womack of Riceville, Carolyn and Delano Goforth of Athens, Nancy and Harold Haun of Cleveland, and Rose Hambright of Charleston;

Brother and sister-in-law Lake and Sue Walker of Cleveland;

Along with several nieces and nephews

Graveside services will be Thursday at 11:30 AM, February 9, 2023, at Oak Grove Cemetery with Pastor Bill Henard officiating.
