Ernie Lee Price, age 73, of Niota passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, at The Waters of Sweetwater.


Ernie was a native of Athens and lifelong resident of McMinn County.  He was the son of the late Robert “Hop” and Katherine Bidwell Price.  He was preceded by his wife of 25 years Brenda S. Borden Price on July 7, 2003, brother Jim Price and sister Mary Woods. 


Ernie was of the Baptist faith and a member of both the VFW Post #5146 and the American Legion.  He enjoyed sports, animals and the outdoors.


Ernie retired from Mayfield Dairy Farms after 30 years as truck driver.  He served the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.


Ernie is survived by

Stepdaughter Sandra Buckner (Tommy) of Athens;

Stepson Richard Douglas Cranfill (Lisa) of Athens;

6 Grandchildren.


Graveside Services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at McMinn Memory Gardens with full military honors.  Chaplain Jim Hitte will be officiating


Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-9959.
