JUDY (ARP) SITZLER

Judy Arp Sitzler, 61, of Ooltewah, TN went home to Heaven to be with her personal Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, March 1, 2019.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, James Harold  Arp and Wanda Lee Raper Arp,  brother Jimmy Arp- all of Madisonville, TN; great-niece Maddie Harrill- of Lenoir City, TN.

Judy accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of nine (9) years old. From there, Judy grew into a gifted and wonderful Christian lady using her gift of teachingand her other spiritual gifts. Her specialty was early childhood development, but she taught many grades from K -8. She taught public school in Monroe County, TN and Chatsworth, GA for twenty years. Afterwards, Judy taught for thirteen years in Christian schools in Athens, TN.  She loved children and enriched the lives of hundreds of them throughout her career. Her classroom was always a special place with order, peace, warmth, and the inviting spirit of love and wisdom. She was an active church member and served in children’s ministries from her teenage years and throughout her life. Judy was a member of Two Rivers Church in Ooltewah, TN.

Judy is survived by her husband of thirty-six years Keith Sitzler, daughter Emily Brooke Casey and son-in-law Kyle Casey with their two children - Ellison Joy Casey (age 2) and Judah Elliot Casey (5 weeks old) - all of Ooltewah, TN; Brother Bruce Arp and his daughter Sarah Arp Shaw with her husband Cory Shaw and their children Keeley and Easton of Madisonville; Brother Tim Arp with wife Kelly and their sons Christopher, Matthew, Benjamin, and Andrew – all of Englewood, TN; Sister Belinda Arp Harrill of Athens, TN and her son James (Jamie) Harrill with his wife Christina (Chrissy) and their daughter Gracie – all of Lenoir City, TN. Judy loved her family and her large extended family. Mostly, she loved her Jesus.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Union McMinn Baptist Church, Niota, TN on Monday, March 4th with Rev. Doug Alexander officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, and the service will begin at 7:00 PM. Internment will be at the Notchey Creek Cemetery, Madisonville, TN on Tuesday, March 5th at 11:00 am.

For those who prefer to give to a charity, Judy would be honored for you to support The Butterfly Fund, an organization established in memory of her great-niece, Maddie Harrill, who died of cancer at age 5.
