Katie Fern (Cox) Curtis

Katie ‘Fern’ Cox Curtis, age 82, of Charleston, passed away on Friday September 4, 2020, at Tennova Hospital in Cleveland.

 A native of Crossville and lifelong resident of Bradley County, she was the daughter of the late Link and Mildred Hamby Cox.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly Hutsell, sons-in-law C.L. Hutsell and Billy Sutton, and brothers Kenneth Cox and Grant Cox.

She attended Charleston Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Fern was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and nana.  She will be greatly missed.

She is survived her husband of 63 years, James Curtis of Charleston,

daughters Cynthia Sutton of Charleston and Denise and Rick Barnes of Cleveland,

grandsons, Adam Sutton and wife Stacey, Christopher Sutton and wife Carrie, Matthew Barnes and wife Allison, David Barnes, Logan Sutton and wife Cara,

great-granddaughters Mahlon and Caroline Sutton,

brothers Boyd Cox and wife Elaine, Glenn Cox and wife Judy.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m CST, Sunday, September 6, 2020, at Fredonia Cemetery in Crossville with Pastor Adam Sutton officiating.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
