Nancy Jane (Jones) Carter

Nancy Jane Jones Carter, age 79, of Athens, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at her residence.

Nancy was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County.  She was a daughter of the late Samuel Caleb Jones and Francis Randall Jones.  She was also preceded by her loving husband of 59 years Charles Willard Carter on April 21, 2021, daughter-in-law Cindy Carter and grandson Elisha Andrus.

Nancy is survived by

Daughter Carolyn Carter;

Sons Tracy Carter and Randy Carter;

Grandchildren Randall Carter, Caleb Carter, Amanda Carter, Kim Andrus, Wesley Fairbanks and wife Jessica;

Great Grandchildren Ava Fairbanks, Colby Fairbanks and Bailey Wallis;

Sisters Faye Wilson and Peggy Haynes;

Son-In-Law Charles “Chuck” Fairbanks.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 6 PM Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Ziegler Funeral Home with Rev. Van Elkins officiating.

The family will receive friends 4 PM – 6 PM Thursday.

The family will have a private burial.
