PHYLLIS IRENE JONES

Phyllis Irene Jones, age 67, of Athens, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday morning, May 30, 2020, at Starr Regional of Athens.

Phyllis was a native and lifelong resident of Athens and was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Johnnie Roberts Jones Dennis, along with her stepfather, Lawrence Dennis.

 She attended Clearwater Baptist Church until her declining health prohibited her from going.

Phyllis was a friend to all and touched the lives of everyone she met.

Survivors include two uncles, Richard Roberts and wife Martha, Earl Roberts, and one aunt, Ruby Houston, all of Athens.

Several cousins and so many friends she made while at NHC of Athens. She also has special step cousins, Tommy and Geraldine Fugate of Rhea County.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 3, 2020, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Home.  Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm in Idlewild cemetery with Rev. Garry King officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The visitation and graveside service will be in accordance to the CDC guidelines for social distancing.
