Sarah Jane “Janie” Breedwell, age 72, of Decatur, passed away Thursday November 4, 2021, at Sweetwater Hospital.
Janie was a native of Niota and longtime resident of Meigs County. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Helen Cleo Revell Thomason. She was also preceded in death by brothers James “Butch” Thomason and Jerry Thomason.
Janie was a member of Texas Grove Baptist Church in Evansville and attended Grace Baptist Church in Meigs County.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years Paul Joel Breedwell Sr. of Decatur;
Daughter Teresa McDowell and husband Ricky of Athens;
Son Paul Joel Breedwell Jr. and fiancé Marquita McRae of Sweetwater;
Grandson Jeremy McDowell and wife Summer;
Great Grandsons Cameron, Colten, Callen and Cade;
Sisters Francis Lewis and husband James of Niota, and Sue Renfrow and husband Craig of Clinton, MS;
Brothers Jimmy Thomason and wife Sharon of Sweetwater;
Several Nieces and Nephews.
Janie will lie in state for 1 hour at the church prior to the funeral service.
Funeral Services will be at 2 PM, Tuesday November 9 at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Meigs County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Arlon Lewis, Dustin Dotson, Freddie Wiley, Timmy Thomason, Alex Thomason and James Hall.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 PM, Monday November 8 at Ziegler Funeral Home.
